Job Title

Software Development Engineer

Software Development Engineer - Machine Learning Engineer

L8

Brighterion, a Mastercard company, was founded in 2000 and acquired by Mastercard in 2017. We deliver a leading artificial intelligence and machine learning platform that provides real-time mission critical intelligence from any data source, regardless of type, complexity or volume. Our AI solution secures billions of transactions monthly and is used and trusted by many of the world’s leading organizations and governments in payments, compliance, financial markets, security and defense, healthcare, Internet of Things, marketing and more. Currently we serve 74/100 of the largest U.S. banks and more than 2,000 customers worldwide, processing more than 100 billion transactions annually.

We are currently seeking a talented and passionate Machine Learning Engineer with a Data Scientist background to join our growing team.

The machine learning engineer role is a hybrid data-scientist / software engineer role that leans towards systems engineering, leveraging knowledge of optimizing algorithms for speed and efficiency. There is a heavy dose of mathematics knowledge required as well as an aptitude for applying theoretical knowledge into applied settings. The engineer should be especially keen on benchmarking, testing, and running experiments on implementations and different pieces of code, bringing their data-science skills to bear on this task as well.

The Brighterion AI Platform team is looking to add another machine learning engineer to help expand our AI model deployment capabilities in production settings. The main goal is to allow for the widest variety of model and algorithm types to be deployed for real-time, scalable, and fault-tolerant applications involving both training models and inference.

Skills:

  • Advanced knowledge of high-performance computing techniques.
  • Aptitude in understanding mathematics around the undergraduate university level (linear algebra, optimization theory, statistics, calculus, but this is not a complete list).
  • Proficiency in C and C++.
  • Knows Linux platforms decently well, with at least basic familiarity of Bash and the familiar Linux package managers and commands.

Nice-to-haves:

  • Java and JVM development.
  • Macros and automated code generation.
  • GPU development (CUDA, OpenCL)
  • Low-level assembly and CPU-architecture specific knowledge would be an enormous plus.

Due to COVID-19, most of our employees are working from home. We’ve implemented a virtual hiring process and continue to interview candidates by phone or video and are onboarding new hires remotely. We value the safety of each member of our community because we know we’re all in this together.
