Job Description Summary:

We are looking for a senior engineer to join Braintree’s Cloud Infrastructure team. This team is responsible for improving time to market, innovation, resiliency, and security for cloud and non-cloud workloads by delivering automated Infrastructure as code (IAC) in repeatable patterns. As a senior engineer on this team, you would support cloud workload migrations and build a self-service cloud platform dedicated to the Braintree environment. You will provide technical guidance to the junior team members with support from architect and manager and collaborate effectively with collaborate with multiple stakeholders including application teams, DBA team, SRE and the enterprise architecture team.Job Description:

We are looking for a senior engineer to join Braintree’s Cloud Infrastructure team. What You’ll Do:

• Solution and participate in the implementation of the platform; escalate any design decision that may cause issues with the existing platform
• Perform mobilization on use cases defined by the architect.
• Implement experience and design activities with data from stakeholder interviews and user interviews
• Implement strategic UX & design direction in collaboration with the mobilization and Braintree engineering teams
• Implement design prototype and workflows
• Help choose the right technologies, tools, services and keep pushing the architecture forward
• Setup practices to ensure the highest levels of operational resiliency.
• Contribute to a culture of learning and growth.
• Hold an extremely high bar on operational resiliency.
• Support production systems 24/7 (on a rotation basis)

What We're Looking For 

• 8+ years of experience in software engineering.
• Deep experience with Iaas/PaaS solutions from AWS.
• Extensive experience with infrastructure as code tooling such as Terraform & CloudFormation.
• Deep experience in one or more of the following: Python, Golang, or shell scripting.
• Design and operational experience with implementing infrastructure to support large scale production grade systems.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience in Linux and understanding of operating systems.
• Ability to work in a fast paced, agile development environment.
• Ability to partner with business units, product management, program management and cross-functional teams to deliver business results with agility and high quality.
• Excellent time management skills and ability to work on concurrent assignments with different priorities.
• Proven results-oriented engineer with a focus on the customer and delivering quality products.
