Description

Tencent, one of the world’s leading technology companies, is seeking a creative storyteller to drive thought leadership and tell Tencent’s story of innovation and #TechforGood in international markets.

The position is within the Media & Content team in Global Communications, which leads the company’s international media relations, thought leadership, and digital outreach outside of Mainland China.


Key Responsibilities and Expectations

• Develop creative content strategies that align with overall communications objectives and utilizes Tencent’s existing platforms including the corporate website, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, WeChat and other digital media as appropriate.

• Be responsible for the voice, style and quality of the content published in English. Develop and implement guidelines to ensure consistency.

• Establish effective benchmarks and KPIs for the content team.

• Lead cross-team collaboration efforts with various internal stakeholders and external

agencies. Create and optimize team workflows.

• Strategize and implement digital campaigns, ensuring localization appropriate for

different regions and markets.

• Manage resources, including outsourcing, external cooperation, as well as content

creation and pipeline management tools.

• Oversee the monthly content calendar and the production/sourcing of content.

Requirements:

Skills

• Outstanding creative writing and storytelling skills in English.

• Ability to create and manage a rich content calendar and ensure published content is of

high quality and on time.

• Sensitive to media issues in technology and innovation

• Strong ability to build relationships with partners and teammates across linguistic,

cultural, geographic and time differences.

• Team player, with the confidence to take the lead and guide the development of

colleagues.

• Effective project management and organizational skills.

• Creative thinker – both in terms of content and problem solving.

• Able to work under pressure and adapt to a fast-paced work environment.

• Graphic design, video production, digital campaigns, and SEO experience would be a plus.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience as a writer, editor, journalist, or communications

professional at a large agency or multinational company.

• A portfolio showing high-quality content deliverables.

• In-house PR experience is preferred but not required.

• Media relations experience is a plus.

• Related degree preferred but not required.

• Excellent writer and fluent speaker of English.


The base pay range for this position in California is $99,600 to $182,600 per year.

Actual pay is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign on payment, relocation package, and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, as well as other medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the specific position offered.
