Houdini Tool Developer
Key Qualifications
- Expert knowledge of Houdini
- Excellent understanding and ability in various programming languages and frameworks including but not limited to VEX, Python, C++, PyQT
- Extensive experience building tools for Houdini that integrate with Maya, Nuke and VRay
- Expert experience with VFX workflow/pipeline for film and commercials
- Experience developing for Shotgun or equivalent production management software.
- Solid foundation of software engineering and architecture
- Comfortable working in an Agile workflow environment with Git implementation
- Strong communication skill to collaborate in a fast paced production environment
- You have good judgment and can follow exacting security and disclosure practices.
- Knowledge of rendering queuing software
- Back-end Database Development for SQL databases
Description
As a Houdini Tool Developer, you will be crafting automation tools with a Shotgrid pipeline
Partner closely with the Engineering teams about DevOps
Partner closely with the 3D Artist teams for creating content
Track and create metrics for Software usage and license allocations
Build and maintain user guides and train artists
Attend bi-weekly Sprints for development assignments and prepare presentations for Spring Reviews with collaborators
Handle studio wide budgets for training and photography purchases
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s in Computer Science or equivalent degree preferred
Additional Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years writing code for tools creation.
- Experience working in both a large-scale studio as well as smaller start-up to medium sized commercial studios.
Pay & Benefits
- At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $107,000 and $209,500, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
