What to Expect

Tesla is seeking a highly motivated Global Trade Professional to join its Trade Team. The Trade Team supports all Import / Export Operations globally and is responsible for Tesla's Trade Compliance policies, programs, applications, and tools, including Duty Drawback, Free Trade Agreement qualification, and Trade Audit. We are looking for a contributor who can use “First Principle Thinking” to drive operational efficiencies. This person will also be a key driver for Trade process and system enhancements. The position will have a direct impact on Tesla’s continued production and sales growth around the world.

What You’ll Do

  • Engage with various activities involved in Trade Master Data solicitation and Trade Audit
  • Solicit Free Trade Agreement (FTA) and Country of Origin data
  • Conduct and audit FTA qualifications for global programs
  • Gather and disseminate Duty Drawback data to support company filings
  • Assist with coordinating and implementing FTA and Trade Audit policies and procedures
  • Interact with Tesla procurement professionals on cross-border cost implications
  • Drive improvements and efficiencies of established Trade processes
  • Continually review systems and capabilities to support new and evolving business models
  • Act as a resource for researching and providing guidance to Trade questions internally
  • Support Tesla’s mission to Accelerate the World’s Transition to Sustainable Energy through your performance and daily execution

What You’ll Bring

  • An interest in learning and enthusiasm for Trade
  • Experience with HS Classification
  • Familiarity with Free Trade Agreements
  • Knowledge of Trade Audit programs
  • Exceptional analytical skills regarding data manipulation
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience or Interest in systems implementation and enhancements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field of study or equivalent experience
  • Ability to communicate clearly to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Capable of creating written reports, proposals, processes, and project documentation
  • The ability to make rational and logical decisions to ensure data used is accurate and well-sourced
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and deliver high quality results
