THE ROLE: AMD's mission is to deliver an Adaptable Intelligent world. Our technology enables our customers to accelerate their applications dramatically, often improving performance by orders of magnitude compared to other approaches. AMD IT provides a globally available, scalable infrastructure for engineering and business teams. The IT Platforms Engineering team is responsible for managing our Engineering, Business and Accelerated computing infrastructure. Our mission is to provide a cloud like experience for employees to access High Performance Compute (HPC), Enterprise data platforms and Elastic Cloud for creating breakthrough FPGA/Converged silicon.

You like taking responsibility for end-to-end outcomes of your efforts. You want to know how IT builds great services from hardware, software, people and processes within a high-tech organization.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Deploying, tuning, managing, and transforming mission critical database environments
  • DB/Data warehouse lifecycle management
  • Enforce architectural governance, database standards and best practices
  • Projects, operational support and troubleshooting of DB based environments at scale
  • Work with cloud native technologies to provide end-to-end Data-Engineering solutions
  • Provide scale out and performance for large scale HPC big data pipelines on-premise and cloud

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience working with RDBMS: PostgreSQL, MS SQL, Oracle, MariaDB, MongoDB
  • Cloud services including AWS and Azure
  • SaaS such as Snowflake, Hadoop/CDP, Presto
  • SQL, DB and Data warehouse Tuning/performance optimization
  • Scripting languages: Shell scripting,Perl, Python, Powershell or equivalent
  • Linux and Windows environments
  • Operational support in various situations (escalated or major incident)
  • Large scale data environments with operational complexity and velocity of change

 ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field strongly preferred
