LG IS SEEKING LEAD UX DESIGNER TO JOIN THEIR DYNAMIC TEAM IN SANTA CLARA AS PART OF THE EMERGING TECHNOLOGIES DEPARTMENT. 

 

DESCRIPTION

As a Lead Experience Designer, you’ll tackle complex tasks and transform them into intuitive, accessible, easy-to-use designs. At each stage, you will anticipate what our users need, advocate for them and ensure that the final product meets their needs and delights them. You will be involved throughout all phases of the product: business & user needs analysis, low fidelity prototyping (wireframing), usability testing, and following deployment, engaging with users to measure success. You will collaborate with Product Management, Engineering, and UX to drive the product strategy to meet business goals.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

  • 8~10 years of experience in UX Design, innovating and shipping products to market.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in a design-related field.
  • An online portfolio demonstrating your craft and proven business impact.
  • Solid understanding of interaction design, information architecture, design system and user interfaces.
  • Deep knowledge of design principles, methods, and currency of design trends in mobile and web applications.
  • Possess a deep understanding of business goals, user needs, technical constraints, and the competitive landscape of the product area
  • Experience working with researchers, engineers and product managers to drive strategy, vision, and execution.
  • Problem-solving skills and familiarity with technical constraints and limitations as they apply to designing for platforms such as desktop and mobile
  • Strong time-management, written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present a strong rationale for design decisions.
  • A positive attitude, empathy, open mind, and a desire to collaborate.
  • Proficiency in UX Design tools such as Figma/Sketch (or similar) to create user interfaces and prototypes

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Lead the design process for your team —from problem definition to design implementation.
  • Use a systematic design approach to conceptualize a broad spectrum of ideas and then narrow it based on experimentation and customer research.
  • Collaborate effectively with other designers, engineers, product managers, and researchers. 
  • Partner with the design team to translate complex problems into simple, elegant, and minimal solutions.
  • Build upon and evolve existing design systems by collaborating with design peers
  • Actively solicit feedback and contribute constructively to design reviews.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product management, and user research, to validate both problems and solution hypothesis
  • Generate design storyboards, user journeys, sketches & concepts, user flows, wireframes, micro-interactions & prototypes
  • Create detailed design documentation of your feature work for implementation
  • Determine best UX solutions based on customer feedback and business goals and helps to determine overall direction, identifying challenges and adapting as needed based on the context of the solution and customer.
  • Constantly measure how designs are performing for target customers. Iterate and improve those experiences as needed.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS (OPTIONAL)

  • Background working in Healthcare technology
  • Experience in leading, designing, and executing impactful research in a fast-paced product development process and know how to integrate research into product and design roadmaps
  • Determine the best research approach to inform product development, which could be a mix of quantitative, qualitative, and participatory design methods.
