What We Do

Epic Games provides a collection of technologies that work in unison to create the best creative 3D experiences in the world. At the heart of understanding these technologies and how they work together is a set of world-class documentation.

The Documentation Technology team is responsible for the platforms, tools, and services required to create, publish, and deliver the educational and reference material that provide knowledge and confidence for thousands of users. This includes authoring tools for improving existing documentation and documenting new features, pipelines and processes for publishing content, and websites for delivering content to users.

What You'll Do

The Documentation Developer helps build and maintain tools and systems used to create and publish documentation for products across the Epic Games ecosystem. You will work closely with Technical Writers, editors, and other stakeholders to help deliver world-class documentation for millions of users across Unreal Engine, Fortnite Creative, Epic Online Services, MetaHuman Creator, and more!  

In this role, you will be given the unique opportunity to further refine your technical support, troubleshooting, software development, and UI/UX design skills while working on a cross-disciplinary initiative focused on shaping the future of learning content delivery at Epic Games.

In this role, you will

  • Develop new documentation tools and features, maintain existing documentation backend systems, and identify areas of improvement
  • Provide technical support for members of the product documentation teams in the usage of internally developed documentation authoring tools
  • Set up, configure, and monitor automated documentation publishing processes
  • Collaborate with the Web Team to support and maintain the user-facing documentation websites
  • Contribute to creative and collaborative discussions at the team and project level

What we're looking for

  • Strong knowledge of web technologies (HTML/CSS3, JavaScript frameworks) and web-based content creation tools (CMS, wiki, etc.)
  • Experience developing C++ or C# applications
  • Experience with automated build, systems and cloud technologies (we use TeamCity, AWS)

 

We are open to multiple locations in the US and Canada for this role.
