What You'll Be Doing
  • Manage and grow a team of People Partners to support the business and grow with Discord
  • Provide strategic thought partnership and coaching to all levels of the organization
  • Ensure a thoughtful employee experience through the creation, implementation and management of People programs that supports a scaling startup
  • Help set and drive People priorities and talent management strategies to meet business objectives¬†
  • Partner with the business, your team and other functions of the People and Talent team to roll out key People initiatives (Performance Management, Career Development, Total Rewards, Talent Management, etc)
  • Proactively assess organizational development needs, make recommendations, and implement appropriate solutions
  • Be a culture builder ensuring our people programs, solutions and programs are reflective of Discord's values
  • Ensure people processes owned by your team are compliant with procedures, policies and best practices and regional law requirements
  • Act as an employee champion and change agent, proactively communicating needs with our People department and leadership teams
  • Challenge and evaluate the quality and effectiveness of HR programs and solutions and recommend changes to meet business and employee need
You Will Thrive In This Role if
  • 10+ years experience in an HR Business Partner or equivalent role
  • 3+ years of people management experience
  • Experience in an ambiguous and ever-evolving environment, with an emphasis on building and scaling
  • Experience partnering directly with Sr. Leadership
  • You are great at coaching, conflict resolution, and relationship and team building skills
  • You are good at solving problems and you use data to understand trends and develop recommendations for action
  • Meaningful relationships are your thing. You excel at making a connection with those around you and across all levels of the organization
  • You are told that your proactiveness and flexible style are what makes you a great partner and collaborator
  • You have successfully coached and influenced individual contributors and managers
  • Experience assessing risk relative to the business while using solid judgment on a daily basis
  • A passion for understanding the business challenges and finding collaborative solutions to deliver impact
