The Energy & Resources Industry Team, part of the Microsoft Customer and Partner Solutions organization, is accountable for leveraging deep industry and technical expertise to enable sales teams and partners to deliver relevant, customized industry solutions and services, built on a secure, integrated cloud platform, to empower our customers to digitally transform their businesses. It’s no longer just about one simple software solution; it’s about creating a connected, secure, efficient, and scalable digital ecosystem.  

 

The Industry Director role is a senior role, operating at a strategic level with Microsoft’s top customers, requiring deep engagement and understanding of the energy industry including Oil & Gas . The ideal candidate is a subject matter expert in energy industry challenges, solutions, and business outcomes, including energy transition drivers and initiatives. The Industry Director will act as the industry leader in a customer centric strategic account team and will strive to build relationships and become a trusted advisor to key business decision-makers, helping them digitally transform their business and deliver business value.

Responsibilities

 Overall Objective: The role of the Industry Director is focused on positioning and scaling industry relevant solutions and platform opportunities, working and selling closely with Microsoft and its partners. Some of the main responsibilities include: 

  

  • Delivering growth of our integrated cloud services (Azure, Microsoft 365 and Dynamics 365) by building new relationships and positioning industry relevant solutions that address the customer’s business challenges and objectives. 
  • Partnering closely with our world-wide industry sales teams and specialist sellers to share best practices and customer references/case studies to bring Microsoft’s industry digital transformation stories to life.  
  • Engaging with selected Strategic accounts, building deep partnership with the customer and the account teams to drive a multi-year business strategy. 
  • Developing and executing a growth strategy for a specific subvertical across all customer segments in the region. 
  • Building relationships with CxO and business leaders to drive customer business outcomes within the region and growing overall revenue. 
  • Nurturing the industry partner ecosystem across the region. 
  • Landing the WW Industry energy strategy, solutions, and sales-plays within region. 
  • Achieving targets measured by integrated cloud revenue in a designated subvertical within the region. 

 

Required/Minimum Qualifications:  

  • 5+ years proven experience working in an energy (Oil & Gas ) industry domain. 
  • OR Bachelor's Degree (e.g., engineering, information technology, computer science, finance or business-related discipline, etc.) AND 3+ years of experience working in an energy (Oil & Gas) domain. 
  • Digital Transformation leadership experience partnering with and presenting to C-level executives 

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications:  

  • 5+ years proven experience working in an energy (Oil & Gas ) industry domain. 
  • OR Bachelor's Degree (e.g., engineering, information technology, computer science, finance or business-related discipline, etc.) AND 3+ years of experience working in an energy (Oil & Gas) domain. 
  • Digital Transformation leadership experience partnering with and presenting to C-level executives 

 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • 10+ years proven experience working in an energy (Oil & Gas) industry domain 
  • OR Bachelor's Degree (e.g., engineering, information technology, computer science, finance or business-related discipline, etc.) AND 7+ years proven experience working energy (Oil & Gas) domain. 
  • OR Master's Degree AND 5+ years of proven experience working in an energy (Oil & Gas) industry domain 
  • 10+ years proven solution or services sales experience in a relevant energy industry domain (Oil & Gas) 
  • OR 7+ years proven experience in deep industry role. 
  • Skills in market development, business development and sales. 
  • Strong understanding of cloud technology and digital transformation, with experience in energy solutions and the associated partner ecosystem in subsurface - Seismic, well log, core, drilling, completion, and production. 
  • Experience in having regular interaction with senior level decision-makers in large enterprise organizations. 
  • An ability to orchestrate and collaborate with multiple internal stakeholders, such as sales leadership, account management and technical teams.

The base salary range for this role in the state of Colorado is USD 152000 - 198000.
