What you'll be doing:

  • Developing a product vision and strategy for how we build a world-class data platform for AV and then expand it to ML challenges beyond self-driving
  • Making a complex platform understandable and usable by a diverse customer base with varying degrees of technical experience and unique data requirements
  • Bringing the product perspective into collaborations with engineers and researchers to craft and architect software systems for the end customer
  • Leading products through the complete life cycle from idea to development to deployment - and be responsible for the resulting business outcomes
  • Capturing requirements for next-generation products including competitive analysis and customer feedback
  • Defining use cases, examples, and tools to convey the product value proposition to a variety of audience-ranging from the technically savvy to the novice
  • Collaborating with engineering, design, operations, sales, and marketing teams in driving the new product introduction process and product transitions
  • Educating current and potential customers and evangelizing the Core Data Platform
  • Developing customer-ready collateral based on engineering or technical documents. E.g. Whitepapers, Product Specifications, etc.
  • Mentoring and coaching more junior product managers and showcase product management methodologies that the whole team can adopt
  • Defining success for your product area and taking a rigorous metrics-driven approach to measuring progress

What we need to see:

  • Strong leadership and communication abilities
  • BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • This is a deeply technical product area. While software engineering experience isn't a requirement, you will need to be able to engage engineers in detailed conversations about technical decisions and how they will impact your customers.
  • 10+ years of experience working as a technical product manager with experience taking products through the full lifecycle -- from inception and launch through expansion and maintenance
  • Strong analytical, marketing, and project management skills - a drive for results and a history of successful execution on projects
  • Excellent balance of deep technical and business knowledge
  • Self-starter, hands-on demeanor in a dynamic environment
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities
  • Passion for building ground-breaking products/technologies

Ways to stand out from the crowd:

  • Previous experience working on Autonomous Vehicles, robotics, or large-scale ML projects
  • Deep knowledge of one or more of the following topics: data pipelines, data catalogs, 2D image annotation labeling, 3D (e.g., LiDAR) annotation labeling
