What to Expect

Tesla is seeking a Collision Technical Trainer to join the Body Repair Program within the Learning and Development team. This position will involve supporting the Collision Repair Program in all aspects of its internal and approved collision shop programs. This position is in Fremont, CA. What You’ll Do

  • ResponsibilitiesDeliver engaging Collision Repair Program instructor-led training on aluminum and steel welding, aluminum and steel structural repair, and paint-less dent repair
  • Train and develop Collision Repair Program technicians on inspection, repair, and service of Tesla vehicles
  • Knowledge of methods, techniques, parts, tools, and materials used in the maintenance and repair of vehicles
  • Ensure that programs and processes are developed, assessed, communicated, and administered in compliance with Tesla’s objectives
  • Assist with the operations at all training centers that include inventory, vehicles, room setup, service center contacts, phone calls, scheduling, tool and equipment maintenance, and student data tracking
  • Effectively handle multiple priorities, organize workload, and meet project deadlines
  • Comply with all Tesla safety rules, guidelines, and standards
  • Operate a variety of hand, power, and shop tools
  • Must be able to work independently in limited supervision environments
  • Comply with all Tesla safety rules guidelines and standards
  • Understands and complies with federal, state, and local regulations that affect body shop operations

What You’ll Bring

  • RequirementsIndustry recognized trainer to Collision Master Technician level – minimum 5 years’ experience
  • Advanced aluminum and steel joining experience – welding, riveting, and bonding
  • Proven ability in structuring demonstrations and instruction sessions
  • Adult learning or training and assessment certificate or equivalent
  • Proficient in use of Celette, Car-Bench, and Car-O-Liner frame equipment
  • High level of proficiency in both written and spoken English
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Certificate from Vocational School in Collision Repair preferred.
  • Capable of driving a forklift
  • Maintain and perform top level professional integrity and appearance as a Collision Repair Program Trainer
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work, including the public
  • Valid driver’s license and a good driving record with at least 2 years of driving experience and insurable
  • Business travel as required
  • Valid passport
  • Health & safety qualification
  • First aid qualification
  • Capable of lifting up to 100lbs
  • Capable of driving a forklift
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
