Overview

The Sr. Tax Account is iesponsible for preparing personal property tax returns and remitting personal property taxes on a timely basis. This position will require assisting other team members, when necessary, in the preparation of personal property tax returns and review of personal property tax bills, etc. The Sr. Tax Account also plays a key role in external audits and special projects, working cross-departmentally with servicing.

 

This is a hybrid position requiring two day per week in the oficce (Tues/Weds).  

Responsibilities

The responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

- Accurate and timely preparation of property tax returns to ensure tax compliance.

- Responsible for remittance of property taxes, including reviewing assessed value notifications for accuracy.

- Respond to requests from taxing authorities using both verbal and written communication.

- Responsible to assist with system testing as it relates to personal property tax.

- Review of property tax requests from Customer Service in a timely manner, research applicable issues, and communicate conclusions.

- Assist with property tax audits and sales tax audits, including gathering information required by the auditor.

- Participates in various tax projects and researches tax issues, as necessary.

- Perform internal audits to ensure accurate tax data in source system.

- Recommend and update current tax policies and procedures.

- Maintain and update as necessary departmental documentation and procedures as related to property tax.

- Ensure property tax downloads from leasing software are performed when necessary, and are reconciled to various internal reports.

- Prepare monthly general ledger reconciliations by the end of the 1st business day of each month.

Qualifications

- Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree required

- 5- 7 years of experience as a Tax Account, specialization in personal property tax

- Strong working knowledge of PTMS required

- Knowledge of Oracle preferred

- CPA licensure preferred but not required

- Strong MS Office skills, intermedite to advanced skill in Excel
