What You Will Do

As a member of the Global CX communication team, you will help build and execute against external communications and thought leadership strategies to amplify our CX stories and presence with press and analysts, in social media channels and at key industry events. This role requires a mixture of coordination, program management, content creation and planning as well as tight alignment with Corporate Communications and Marketing teams within Cisco.

You will:

  • Drive, amplify and elevate external perception of Cisco CX.
  • Work with Corporate Communications to build key relationships between CX executives and key influencers.
  • Identify opportunities and build messaging to showcase CX thought leadership

Some of the responsibilities include:

  • Develop external communications plans for key announcements, events, or milestones
  • Identify top press and analyst opportunities (in partnership with Corporate Communications) that can elevate external perception of Cisco CX
  • Project manage external team events and activities
  • Write talking points for external communications or events
  • Write and edit briefing documents, emails and presentations
  • Produce clear, concise communications that make sophisticated topics understandable
  • Project manage ex and strategic plans and initiatives, from beginning to end as
  • Collaborate with other members in communications and leadership to build thought leadership stories
  • Build a social media plan and create content for social media posts

Required skills

  • 10+ years of experience in a communications role
  • Demonstrable ability to work calmly and maintain good judgment in a fast-paced, high-stress environment
  • Ability to prioritize with agility and speed and solid project management skills with the ability to balance concurrent projects
  • Experience project managing, coordinating, and implementing complex communications plans
  • Experience working with press or analysts
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field
  • Understand Cisco’s story, its technologies, services & solutions
  • Strong verbal and written communication, translating complexity into easy words and pictures
  • Good social skills: intuitive ability to read people, influence where appropriate and complete when vital
