(Senior) Research Associate, Executive Leadership Recruiting (ELR)

YOU AND ORACLE

As a key contributor, the (Senior) Research Associate is involved throughout the entire value chain of the search process, working in conjunction with recruiters throughout the kick-off, strategy, and execution of search engagements to bring each search to successful completion. This individual will be expected to go beyond any developed proprietary database/CRM system to creatively define target company lists, identify top performers, generate talent maps, utilizing multiple internal and external data resources. This is an integral role that is the backbone of a successful internal recruiting team. The primary responsibilities for the (Senior) Research Associate are to identify high-quality prospects for senior-level assignments, to partner and collaborate with executive recruiters, to build intellectual capital, keep up-to-date with key market trends and competitive intelligence, and mentor and train new analysts. This will include preparing intelligence for search intake meetings, tracking executive moves, and disseminating relevant functional and market trend news and provocative happenings to the business, HR, and recruiting teams.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Expert at independently owning, building, and driving the executive search strategy to identify top talent based on the goals of the hiring team.
  • Deliver high-impact executive search recruitment research in a fast-paced and highly dynamic environment.
  • Strategic partner and advisor to executive recruiters.
  • Prepare/contribute to search status reports and lead/participate in client update meetings.
  • Ability to engage with senior-level executives in a polished and professional manner to articulate talent and market findings with a high level of business acumen.
  • Perceived as a leader and expert in a specific industry, LOB, product, or region able to advise and consult to the ELR team.
  • Build relationships with leadership talent in the marketplace.
  • Propose creative ideas and innovative research techniques to uncover hidden talent.
  • Serve as an expert in the research process including knowledge of sources, industries/markets, organizational structures, and companies.
  • Utilize publicly available, subscription-based, and proprietary database resources, social media, and other channels and sources.
  • Assist management to continue to establish best practices and streamline recruitment processes.
  • Lead research critical projects.
  • Find creative solutions to the most challenging searches.
  • Mentor and coach junior researchers.

 

 

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

The Research Associate will have experience in analytical or information research-related roles, ideally within retained or in-house search firms. He or she should be a creative thinker with a strong focus on problem-solving. He or she should also be motivated by an intellectually stimulating recruitment environment with the desire to identify the best talent for Oracle.

  • Minimum of 5-10 years (or 10-15 for Senior roles) in an analytic or information research-related role.
  • Previous experience in retained search is strongly desired.
  • Technology industry experience preferred.
  • High self-motivation and the ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Must be able to navigate different personalities.
  • Detail-oriented with strong project management skills.
  • Solid judgment skills for assessing people and situations.
  • The ability to operate in the gray and make sense of many data points to drive a successful outcome.
  • The gravitas and ability to communicate at senior executive levels.
  • Business-minded with an ability to understand the dynamics of company performance.
  • Intellectual curiosity with the ability to find answers using creative and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong focus on ownership and execution with the ability to persevere when faced with a challenge.

 

EDUCATION

A Bachelors’ degree is preferred. An advanced degree is a plus.

Ability to listen and understand the goals of our hiring team and create a robust search strategy. Provide strategic guidance and become an advisor to executive recruiters. Troubleshoot, problem solve and provide possible solutions for a challenging project. Prepare/contribute to search status reports and lead/participate in client update meetings. Ability to engage with senior level executives in a polished and professional manner to articulate talent and market findings with a high level of business acumen. Continually contribute to the knowledge base of the group sharing new information about industries and talent pools or profile types. Become a leader and expert in a specific industry, LOB, product or region able to advise and consult. Propose creative ideas and innovative research techniques to uncover hidden talent. Serve as database subject matter expert (SME) to the executive search team to continue to establish best practices and streamline recruitment processes. Actively read and monitor industry trades to track key industry moves and assess recruitment trends.


Experience in analytical or information research related roles, ideally within retained or in-house search firms. Be an out-of-box and creative thinker with a strong focus on problem solving. Be motivated by an intellectually stimulating recruitment environment with the desire to identify the best talent for Oracle. Minimum of 10 years in an analytic or information research related role.
