Position Overview

The Product Marketing Manager – ME, is responsible for end to end category management of new product launches for Samsung’s portfolio of Mobile Enhancements devices. Responsibilities include helping shape product portfolio from gathering of consumer insights and category knowledge through product inception and development process, then driving all go to market activities such as schedule, packaging design and demand generation activities required to bring a new product to market.

Role and Responsibilities

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Consumer Insights: Conducting consumer research to identify opportunities in the market as well as gauge consumer acceptance of existing products.  Familiarity with NPD, Strategy Analytics and other consumer data and insights organizations/reporting is a plus. Periodically synthesize and report competitive intelligence, gap analysis related to Mobile Enhancements category. 
  • Product Management & Launch Process: Works cross functionally with HQ teams in Korea and SEA Operations to manage all aspects of product launches including launch timeline management, sample management, reporting, SKU setup, and tracking testing schedules. Collect, document and report VOC information (post product launch) and create improvement plans. Provide regular updates related to product, features or schedule changes to all teams involved in the launch process
  • Go to Market: Works with Samsung Channel Organizations to sell in and launch the portfolio of Samsung Mobile enhancements such as Galaxy Buds, Power, Smart tracker and Phone cases.  Tasks include developing customer facing presentations, participating in in person meetings with customers, and product packaging development.
  • Demand Generation: Works with Samsung Demand Generation organization and outside marketing agencies to develop marketing strategies, product positioning marketing tools such as fixtures, product packaging and other demand generation activities.
  • Training: Works with training to develop internal customer facing tools to accurately present product features and benefits and existing and new technologies. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Other: Test product features to ensure compliance with key USPs and marketed features. Create, maintain and update value proposition, positioning and competitive comparison documents.

Background/Experience Required:

  • BA Degree with 6+ years related experience is required; MBA Preferred
  • Prior consumer electronics or telecommunication product marketing experience in a field facing role preferred. 
  • Very strong written and speaking communication skills is required

Physical/Mental Demands:

Work is generally performed in an office environment. Operate a computer keyboard and view a video display terminal between more than 50% of work time, including prolonged periods of time. Requires considerable work utilizing high visual acuity / detail, numeric / character distinction and moderate hand / finger dexterity. The movement and transportation of equipment, most of the time is under 25 pounds. Performs work under time schedules and stress which are normally periodic or cyclical, including time sensitive deadlines, intellectual challenges and project management deadlines. Machines, tools, equipment, and work aids include PC’s, printers, copiers, faxes and other equipment commonly associated with an office work area. May require working additional hours beyond normal schedule. Travel varies depending on position.
