As a key member of the Shopify App Ecosystem Partnerships team, you’ll directly manage engagements with our fast-growing and most innovative app partners, advancing our product over the long term and helping create advantage for our merchants.

 

You’ll become an expert on Shopify’s strategy, and align our goals with those of your partner. You’ll need to be able to quickly create meaningful relationships both internally and externally, and ultimately, sign and manage impactful partnerships. We value creative thinkers, driven, collaborative, and action-oriented individuals. You will be working on a variety of functions such as: operations, commercial and legal, business development, relationship management, partner enablement and product development.

 

Responsibilities

  • Support the strategic objectives and interests of Shopify’s product teams on a global basis and further these objectives through partnerships
  • Build a team that supports the critical function of cross-vertical app partnership expansion and growth
  • Contribute to our top emerging and fastest-growing partnerships over time by nurturing long-term relationships, fostering a deep understanding of partner objectives and values, and being laser-focused on OKRs that align with Shopify’s mission
  • Work with high-growth partners to ideate on or explore product integrations and/or develop new business models, securing buy-in from cross-functional stakeholders and leadership, internally and externally
  • Negotiate deals with multiple strategic partners both locally and globally
  • Identify new partnership opportunities that have high potential to drive new merchants to Shopify 
  • Lead discussion amongst cross functional teams within Shopify including Product, Engineering, Marketing, Support, Legal, and Finance to execute on various opportunities that impact the success of merchants

  • Understands product integrations, API’s and the development and execution of strategic roadmaps.
  • Experience in business development and building growth strategies and verticals
  • A strong sense of urgency around your work, investment in the team, the company, and the ability to hold yourself accountable to the highest standard of excellence.
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote and fast-paced environment. Demonstrated ability to develop effective working relationships and excel in a cross-functional environment.
  • Creative problem solver and critical thinking skills with a bias towards action and being a doer.

Qualifications

Requirements for the Role

  • Experience building and implementing partnerships in the commerce industry, technology, or SaaS
  • Experience building and implementing partnerships in a product-led company
  • Navigating and negotiating contracts in a complex and dynamic environment
  • Collaborate with a range of business units and internal stakeholders, including executives, marketing, product, engineering and design
  • Self-directed individual and being able to thrive on change and prioritize effectively
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, you are comfortable drafting documents internally and externally
