Job summary

Work hard, have fun and make history with Amazon’s legal team! We are looking for a smart and motivated individual to provide administrative and other assistance to our legal team. As a Legal Assistant, you will be a key member of our team, helping us support our dynamic devices and digital services businesses, like Fire TV, Amazon Appstore, Amazon Luna, and more. The Legal Assistant will support attorneys and contracts managers by providing legal, contractual, and administrative support, and will provide support directly to our business partners as needed.

Key job responsibilities

  • Coordinating contract approvals, signatures, and filings
  • Creating and maintaining internal legal- and business-facing guidance, trainings, and other resources
  • Effectively using and managing all software, systems, and tools used by the Legal Department and by our specific legal team; teaching team members and business users how to effectively use tools
  • Identifying and executing on legal and business-facing process improvements, including simplification measures to eliminate repetitive, low spend, or low risk work
  • Providing general administrative support including contract searches and organization, helping with presentations and trainings, meeting coordination, organizing travel arrangements, and creating and submitting expense reports.
  • Acting as a primary resource or “go to” for the team
  • Working directly with product teams to ensure that legal guidance is correctly implemented across our products
  • May also be provided with the opportunity to analyze, draft and negotiate standard form contracts with support from the legal team


  • BS/BA degree
  • 2+ years’ experience working as a legal assistant or in an administrative capacity.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook


  • Ability to work efficiently and independently; manage high volumes of tasks and projects with little guidance; react with appropriate urgency to situations and events that require a quick response or turnaround; take effective action without having to know the total picture; and think creatively and be proactive in solving problems that affect people within the group or other related groups
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Client service-oriented
  • Great attention to detail while still meeting tight deadlines
  • Strong organization skills
  • Ability to easily switch gears
  • A high level of professionalism, integrity, and discretion in handling confidential information
  • Ability to work well with people at all levels inside and outside the company is essential
