The Azure Sovereign Cloud Security group is looking for highly motivated candidates that can thrive in a non-traditional, agile environment at the cutting-edge of the security market. Our group is responsible for providing organizations with the best security solution for their cloud environment, allowing for visibility, governance and protection over their infrastructure, platforms, and application solutions. 


We are looking for energetic hands-on software engineers to join a fast-paced team solving complex security and systems focused problems in the sovereign cloud security space. You will work closely with a distributed engineering team, product management, CXP, and customers in addition to the central Azure organization leveraging the best platforms that Microsoft has to offer

Our team continuously evaluates the effectiveness of our codebase in production through our live site activities. Required Qualifications:

  • Security Clearance Requirements: Candidates must be able to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
  • Candidates must have an active TS and be willing to upgrade to TS/SCI (with polygraph) or have an active TS/SCI and be willing to upgrade to TS/SCI (with polygraph). This role will require candidates to maintain the TS/SCI (with polygraph) clearance.
  • Candidates must pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
  • 3+ years of Software development experience using C#, C++, C, Java, or Python
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent alternative education, skills, and/or practical experience


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active TS/SCI (with polygraph) clearance would be a plus
  • Software Engineering or equivalent and experience in testing, deploying, and supporting large scale services on Azure, AWS or similar environments
  • Experience with Build systems and CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Azure DevOps (VSTS) or similar)
  • Demonstrated problem solving, coding and debugging skills
  • Ability to debug and optimize code, and automate routine tasks
  • Solid CS fundamentals, fluent in multi-threaded, asynchronous programming, strong inclination for architecting at scale
  • A strong background in data structures and analysis of algorithm complexity
  • Excellence in software engineering practices and coding
  • Experience with multi-threaded/parallel programming would be a plus
  • Experience building and operating scalable distributed systems would be a huge plus
  • Written and oral communication skills
  • Strong intellectual curiosity and passion about learning new technologies
