Help shape the future of Treasury at Amazon! Amazon is seeking a Treasury Analyst to join the Treasury Business Partner team and support M&A Integrations. The Treasury Business Partner team works directly with business and finance teams to develop solutions for customer-facing and internal finance and banking challenges.

In this role you will be part of the M&A Integrations team, which supports newly acquired subsidiaries and their treasury integration into Amazon's ERP system, processes, and controls. On this role you will also assist non-integrated subsidiaries with their funding and banking needs, new country launches, and more. You will develop banking strategies for new subsidiaries, onboard them into Amazon’s overall cash management infrastructure, and institute rigorous controls over cash and financial account access.

This position requires a self-starter who collaborates well with internal and external stakeholders of various levels and backgrounds, is comfortable with ambiguity, and can balance multiple priorities. The role necessitates broad cross-functional partnerships with our Business, Finance, Legal, Accounting, Tax, and FinOps teams on global initiatives, as well as with our subsidiaries and partner financial institutions. The candidate should be knowledgeable in cash management solutions, banking services, liquidity management, and the current Treasury system landscape.

Candidates must have the ability to think big and deliver solutions that scale for Amazon by effectively influencing business partners and driving collaboration across a diverse set of stakeholders. Excellent communication and organizational skills, including the ability to anticipate, identify, and communicate risks and recommendations to Treasury and business leadership is required.

The ideal candidate should have a proven track record dealing with complexity and have experience in a global Treasury organization in a cash management or project management capacity. Prior experience in Treasury M&A and/or subsidiary integration is preferred.

This role can be based in Seattle, WA, Arlington, VA or New York, NY corporate office locations.

Key job responsibilities

  • Perform Treasury due diligence and closing support for potential acquisitions, asset purchases, license deals, and strategic investments.
  • Work closely with our subsidiaries, actively seeking to understand their needs, strategies, initiatives, opportunities, challenges, risks, and identify areas where Treasury can add value to help grow the business and reduce costs.
  • Drive banking migrations for subsidiaries from legacy banking partners to preferred banking partners and implement required banking products and services in order to ensure a seamless transition.
  • Manage funding, both domestic and international, for acquisitions, investments, and subsidiary operations with a wide range of complexity and tight timelines.
  • Develop strong controls on subsidiary bank account access and proper segregation of duties, clean up and update authorized signatories on bank accounts, create robust mechanisms for ensuring control adherence on an ongoing basis, and be a strong proponent for Treasury controls globally.
  • Work closely with other Treasury groups to provide cash management solutions to our subsidiaries, including FX, investment management and cash pooling, credit support, among others
  • Design, track, and monitor reporting packages related to subsidiary integration status and subsidiary banking control adherence.
  • Organize subsidiary banking and Treasury documentation in order to ensure that historical activity is accessible and up-to-date.
  • Develop strategic relationships with your business partners to help influence the right decisions while maintaining strong baking relationships.
  • Manage processes for contract negotiation between Amazon legal and our banking partners.
  • Ensure subsidiary compliance with Treasury guidelines and policies including Subsidiary Operating Policy, Banking Authority Policy, Investment Policy, and Foreign Exchange Policy.

About the team

The Treasury Business Partner (BP) team is comprised of two teams and several sub-teams. The first team focuses on the Amazon consumer businesses and operations. The second Treasury BP team is focused on M&A integrations, AWS, devices, and the digital businesses such as Prime Video and Amazon Music.

The Treasury BP team’s mission is to act as a strategic partner and advisor to Amazon businesses and subsidiaries, and deliver innovative best-in-class Treasury banking services, financing solutions, and payment solutions. We are focused on our internal customers and are willing to jump into any issue, big or small, and help drive a resolution.


  • 3+ years of experience in finance or a related analytical field.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in treasury, finance, banking, or applicable industry.
  • Project management and documentation skills.
  • Experience with Treasury Management Systems/Workstations (e.g. Kyriba, Sungard) and Bank Portals.


  • CTP or CFA.
  • Previous Treasury experience in a multinational company strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of Treasury controllership standard procedures, frameworks, and tools.
  • Knowledge of US and international corporate banking services and platforms, payment instruments, and payment/clearing systems.
  • Experience monitoring, measuring, and mitigating foreign exchange and other financial exposures.
  • Keen attention to detail and ability to manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to drive automation, simplify processes, and clearly document procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to execute in autonomous roles.
  • An ownership mentality; willingness to roll up the sleeves and do whatever is necessary to meet team goals and provide excellent customer service to internal stakeholders.
  • Advanced Excel, financial modelling, and analytical skills.
