Job summary

Do you have an interest in global standardization and automation? Do you want to be a part of developing Amazon’s foreign tax platform? If so, you might be the perfect fit for the role of Manager in the Foreign Reporting and Compliance Team!

In this role, you will research tax law in all foreign countries and develop tools, procedures, and policies to roll out to all Amazon’s foreign reporting teams. The Foreign Reporting Team owns the tax position reporting and compliance for these issues. To ensure Amazon is being consistent with its reporting positions, and that those positions are properly analyzed and documented, the Foreign Team requires a Manager in the head Seattle office to manage this area and coordinate with all the global owners.


The primary responsibilities of this role will be:

  • Analyze existing upstream and downstream processes and develop standardization around those processes;
  • Liaise with all foreign owners and

o Develop automated tools to help them work faster at scale;

o Develop process documentation and deliver content; and

o Train teams on new and revised processes;

  • Work in close relationship with Tax Technology and Worldwide Provision teams to build global integration tools and processes;
  • Develop global data and process standards related to foreign tax reporting;
  • Communicate status updates and issues within Tax Leadership; and
  • Serve as a point of contact for global accounting teams to coordinate joint global standardization and automation projects.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 7+ years of experience in tax, finance or a related analytical field.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· 5+ years of direct tax experience

· 6+ years of experience with accounting for income taxes under US GAAP, IFRS, or similar accounting rules

· Tax operational experience, including ability to drive process improvements

· Project management experience
