The Amazon Simple Notification Service (SNS) team in Vancouver is searching for a passionate and customer-focused Senior Technical Program Manager (Sr. TPM), with a track record of delivery. We are looking for a self-starter individual, who can help us raise the bar in program management practices and operational excellence, while serving hundreds of thousands of customers around the globe.

The Role:

We are looking for a Sr. TPM for the Amazon SNS application-to-application (A2A) team. The A2A team owns Amazon SNS features such as the delivery of notifications to Amazon SQS queues, AWS Lambda functions, HTTPS endpoints, and Amazon Kinesis Data Firehose streams. You will interface daily with product managers, engineers, and managers across Amazon SNS. You will need to think across the entire lifecycle of a program and be able to put in place scalable mechanisms that drive results.

The Product:

Amazon SNS is a fully-managed messaging service for both application-to-application (A2A) and application-to-person (A2P) communication. The A2A functionality provides topics for high-throughput, push-based, many-to-many messaging between distributed systems, microservices, and event-driven serverless applications. Using Amazon SNS topics, our customers' publisher systems can fanout messages to a large number of subscriber systems, including Amazon SQS queues, AWS Lambda functions, Amazon Kinesis Data Firehose streams, and HTTPS endpoints, for parallel processing. The A2P functionality enables our customers to send messages to users at scale via SMS, mobile push, and email.

We build scalable messaging and notifications services, as part of the AWS Messaging and AWS Serverless organizations.

This position involves on-call responsibilities, typically three days a month, and also includes solving problems reported by customers. When we do get paged, we work together to resolve the root cause so that we don’t get paged for the same issue twice.

  • Technical fluency; comfort understanding and discussing technology concepts, schedule trade-offs, and new opportunities with technical team members.
  • Track record of delivering results for large, cross-functional initiatives, while managing multiple competing priorities.
  • Experience defining customer requirements for complex products or systems.
  • Experience taking ownership and driving results.
  • Great written and verbal communication skills.


  • Knowledge in the application integration industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics, engineering, or a related field.
