We are seeking leaders in Pharma and Life Sciences to engage as Industry Advisors to the customers we serve. Microsoft’s mission is to empower every person on the planet to achieve more. The pandemic has created a sense of urgency and opportunity for us to accelerate discovery, improve the level of scientific evidence by which we make decisions, reach lives who heretofore have been left behind or left to wait years for answers. Thus, our transformational and entrepreneurial inspiring leaders must have deep knowledge and relationships in the Life Sciences Industry. These Executives will lead/drive our enterprise positioning and solution strategy discussions with customers in an Industry Advisory role. These senior industry leaders, astutely aligned with the changing regulatory and market landscape, are adept at building and developing deep business relationships and trust with those seeking enabling technologies for research and development, modernized clinical trials, optimized life sciences business processes, next-gen commercialization strategies. 


This Industry Advisor role is a mix of thought leadership, customer advisory, account strategy, business development, sales execution, and partner engagement in the Pharma and Life Sciences market. This Advisor is a natural evangelist with proven leadership experience to drive organizational engagement; an extensive executive-level network across industries; understands the System Integrators and ISVs landscape; and drives industry thought leadership around digital transformation in Pharma and Life Sciences


The Industry Advisors role drives impactful collaboration with Sales and all other support functions to complete the primary focus of accelerating mind-share and ultimately over-achieve on company quota objectives.

Responsibilities

 

  • Develop a consultative transformation narrative and point of view that creates clarity on Microsoft’s unique value proposition in Life Sciences that is used to guide sales teams, partners, and customers.
  • Collaborate with customers and product groups to craft the evolution of industry blueprints, investment in industry-specific capabilities, and partnerships to drive the vision for the industry
  • Engage with strategic growth customers to support account planning, provide direct deal support, and provide industry expertise and strategy in key sales opportunities.
  • Influence solutions creation to help educate and enable sales, presales, and customer success teams
  • Engage with key partners on enabling solution truth to drive pipeline in targeted accounts and regional engagement strategies aligned with our overall strategies
  • Present and lead executive roundtable discussions and industry event presentations
  • Triage account strategy requests and categorize accounts systematically to ensure the accurate resources are being used against the highest priority Annual Contract Value (ACV) targets and accounts identified for industry relevance, use case, and name recognition in the industry

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • 10+ years proven experience working in a relevant industry domain
  • OR Bachelor's Degree in a relevant industry domain (e.g., Government, Education) or related field (e.g., Computer Science, Business Administration) AND 6+ year(s) experience working in an industry domain.
  • At least 10 years of experience in any of the following: Life Sciences, Clinical Research, emerging digital clinical trials, remote patient monitoring, AI applied to clinical research or related.
  • At least 5 years of experience in any of the following: Sales, Leadership, Product Marketing, Sales Enablement, Operations and/or similar functions in Fortune 500 enterprise software vendor, ISVs, professional services firm, systems integrators, client customer and partners servicing Life Sciences market, or related.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10 years of high tech company experience and/or large system integrators supporting the Life Sciences industry
  • Leader in emerging digital clinical trials, remote patient monitoring, and AI applied to clinical research.
  • Deep Life Sciences expertise with a point of view of sub-verticals
  • Experience with regulatory agencies; including experience in FDA regulatory process for drugs and devices
  • Industry expertise & experience in clinical research, digital study assets, and configurations of study systems.
  • Experience with deploying tech with a hardworking vision for how we can change the industry in the Age of the Customer
  • Consistent record of working across multi-disciplinary teams
  • Strong executive presence and an ability to quickly establish credibility with senior leadership
  • Outstanding written, verbal communication, presentation skills in front of audiences ranging from small executive meetings to very large keynote presentations
  • Self-starter with ability to multitask in the fast-paced and high-pressure work environment of a start-up paced software company
  • Strong customer orientation and results-driven leader
  • Outstanding problem solving and analytical skills; demonstrated ability to support complex problems, develop hypotheses, and present well-supported solutions
  • 10 years of high tech company experience and/or large system integrators supporting the Life Sciences industry
  • Hands-on leader, “get it done” operating style, and participant in industry associations
  • Preferred Skills:
  • Validated ability in leading digital transformation and large-scale change management efforts
  • Ability to influence across a broad spectrum of individuals and functions
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret data for value based discussions
  • Action-oriented, entrepreneurial, flexible and innovative approach to operational management
  • Ability to engage and motivate teams
  • Media experience and social media presence
  • Ability to lead through organizational change and virtual teams
  • Undergraduate degree, advanced degree preferred
