Job DescriptionTipico North America is looking for a Senior Business Development Executive to become a key player in planning the growth strategy of our organization throughout the US. We want someone who will monitor competitors, understand the marketing landscape, and understand Tipico’s methodology, technology, and core values. We need an individual who will find valuable partnerships that we can leverage to strengthen our strategy and approach across the US. We want innovators, we want doers!

The right candidate will work with existing partners like Gannet (USATODAY) and The Columbus Crew (MLS) while creating opportunities to add new partnerships across existing states in which we operate, as well as future states. This person will work hand in hand with the marketing team and technology to leverage existing partnerships as well as generate new opportunities. We’re looking for someone who excels in negotiation at all stages and can manage business development opportunities related to new markets (states), marketing, sponsorship, sports team deals and tech to elevate our product landscape, brand and/or customer base. 

The Senior Business Development Executive will report directly to the VP of Business Development & Strategy (based in Charlotte, NC), and work together with the rest of the management team and business operations. 

The ideal candidate will be responsible for new customer opportunities in the sports media, sports betting, and gambling industry. You must have strong prospecting and strong relationship building skills. You must be an independent self-starter and have very strong communication, writing, presentation, and follow up skills.

What you'll do as a Senior Business Development Executive:

  • Assist in the development and execution of short and long-term business development strategies 
  • Create an ecosystem of new opportunities and prospects for Tipico 
  • Identify, evaluate, prospect, and assist in execution of potential opportunities including partnerships, vendor relationships, new business opportunities, and other growth initiatives 
  • Actively manage an existing portfolio of relationships to ensure partnerships are achieving established KPIs and all internal stakeholders are fully leveraging deal assets, in order to nurture and grow these opportunities and enhance the overall relationship 
  • Work with Marketing to audit delivery of partnership assets and rights; track, analyze and measure key success metrics related to each partnership 
  • Communicate with various internal stakeholders such as legal, expansion team, accounting/finance, compliance, analytics/business intelligence and FP&A to efficiently onboard new partners 
  • Assist with or manage proposals, presentations (internal & external) and RFP responses for key partnership opportunities
  • Support the VP Business Development in forecasting, growth plans, strategic presentations including everything that is needed to push the strategy internally and to shareholders
  • Monitor the partnership landscape and competitor activity, and update senior management on threats and opportunities 
  • Proactively build excellent relationships with business partners and internal stakeholders 
  • Function as a consultative spokesman, accurately conveying the organization’s products and services to potential partners 
  • Be involved in the tech roadmaps and product strategy to push through outside perspective and future M&A strategic needs 
  • Qualifications8+ years of experience working in the sales, business development, or partnership management
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, or related field 
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, analytical, data-driven environment, which also requires strong communication skills to effectively convey complex business concepts both internally and to current and prospective clients 
  • Comfortable engaging with major client decision-makers, as well as senior executives and leaders, either in one-on-one or small group presentations 
  • Highly effective oral and written communication skills including presentation, persuasion, relationship management, timing, tact and negotiating skills 
  • Understanding of financial analysis and forecasting, including use of MS Excel for modeling 
  • Enthusiastic and entrepreneurial self-starter with the ability to think strategically, as well as execute at a tactical level with a strong attention to detail 
  • Strong proficiency working with PowerPoint, Keynote, and other presentation platforms
  • Travel as needed to fulfil this role.

Nice to have

  • Ecommerce, online marketing, online sports betting, iGaming, fantasy industry experience a plus
