The way we work and collaborate with others on ideas is undergoing a profound transformation. Microsoft 365 services and Microsoft Teams are powering this transformation with over 250M monthly active users and growing. This is driving a change in how developers are building applications – from designing apps for individual productivity to designing apps for teams. These modern collaborative applications and workflows are bringing together people, processes, and data to foster collaboration, shrink feedback loops and get users faster to the business outcomes they care about. 


The Teams and M365 Platform marketing team is looking to fill a high impact leadership role to lead the incubation of an emerging portfolio of services that will power modern collaborative apps and workflows. Teams and Microsoft 365 at the core are extensible platforms that support a rich and expanding ecosystem of partners and customers. We have a vision to empower developers to tap the full potential of the Teams and M365 platform with a portfolio of services that make it easy to build rich, immersive, and intelligent experiences for their users that are secure and compliant. Some of the early services in this portfolio include Azure Communication Service and Microsoft Graph Data Connect.


In this role, you will lead your team in:

  • Defining product messaging and positioning, and creating marketing deliverables like pitch decks, demos, and sales enablement assets.
  • Defining target audiences, customer scenarios, branding and marketing strategy.
  • Developing our thought leadership narrative for the portfolio and driving perception with analysts and influencers.
  • Taking a “One Microsoft” approach to drive cross-portfolio alignment for our platform services.
  • Building great stories that showcase the power of new platform services through the lens of “lighthouse” customers and partners.
  • Partnering across multiple stakeholders and organizations in Microsoft to drive an aligned agenda for the business, including GTM orchestration and alignment on success metrics.
  • Coaching and mentoring a high performing team to develop the next set of leaders at Microsoft.


The ideal candidate will have the following attributes:

  • Having coached, managed and/or mentored a high performing team.
  • An understanding of application development and ability to communicate technical concepts in simple ways to broad audiences.
  • Passion for language, writing and storytelling.
  • Passion for technology and the business impact it can drive for customers.
  • The ability to collaborate across multiple organizations that may have different objectives than ours.
  • 5+ years of experience in roles such as technical marketing, sales, evangelism, or product management.
