Microsoft 365 services and Microsoft Teams are powering this transformation with over 250M monthly active users and growing. This is driving a change in how developers are building applications – going beyond designing apps for individual productivity to designing apps that meet users in their flow of work. These modern collaborative applications and workflows are bringing together people, processes, and data to foster collaboration, shrink feedback loops and accelerate high value business outcomes they care about. 


Microsoft Teams at the core is an extensible platform that supports a rich and expanding ecosystem of ISV and line of business applications. The Teams and M365 Platform marketing team is looking for a candidate to fill a high-impact role to drive thought leadership and help establish Microsoft Teams as the leading platform for building collaborative applications.


In this role, you will:

  • Partner with stakeholders across the company to define the market category and Microsoft’s differentiated approach to collaborative applications.
  • Own the company narrative on collaborative applications and land that narrative in a connected way from our external communications, keynotes to marketing and field execution.
  • Grow perception of Microsoft Teams as the leading platform for collaborative applications with customers, partners, developers, industry analysts, and press.
  • Lead initiatives and creation of assets that bring to life our vision around collaborative applications to inspire customers and partners and drive share of voice with press, analysts, and other influencers.
  • Support rationalization of our product and services building blocks that contribute to the collaborative apps vision and influence their branding and GTM.
  • Gather insights from ecosystems and competition to inform priorities and business decisions.


The ideal candidate will have the following attributes:

  • An understanding of application development and platform businesses with the ability to communicate technical concepts in simple ways to broad audiences.
  • Successful track-record of cross-functional collaboration with teams, contributors, and stakeholders across multiple seniority levels.
  • Proven track record in planning and orchestrating strategic and complex business activities.
  • Ability to excel in an ambiguous environment and re-prioritize to align with business objectives.
  • Passion for language, writing and storytelling.
  • 5+ years of experience in product marketing, product management or developer marketing experience at a technology company.
