Our Advertising Learning & Development Team fuels a culture of curiosity and passion for learning that activates growth for Microsoft Advertising. We are seeking a top performing strategic Learning & Development Consultant with proven experience in designing and delivering world-class training experiences for sales teams to develop skills and capabilities for the future. 

  

As Microsoft Advertising’s Learning & Development Specialist, your primary role is to develop and drive the effectiveness and capability of the Microsoft Advertising Sales organization by developing high impact programs that build sellers product knowledge, core sales skills and effectiveness, technical skills, and understanding of Microsoft Advertising sales model; platforms; products; and processes and industry ecosystem. 

 

This role plans for and develops learning programs, content, or experiences through determining and aligning with audience/stakeholder needs, as well as gathering and applying appropriate resources to projects. Executes on learning programs or experiences that contribute to the learner journey. Reviews and continuously improves learning content by leveraging feedback from learners, stakeholders, and partners to align with learning objectives and ensure effective content. Uses and analyzes data to evaluate program and content metrics and effectiveness, as well as learning priorities and capability gaps. Collaborates and develops relationships with key stakeholders to align on and understand learner content/program needs or perspectives. 

Responsibilities

Program Planning and Development 

Develops, guides, and manages learning programs and initiatives for relevant audiences by identifying organizational needs, managing resources, evangelizing with executive stakeholders, and prioritizing work.  

Ensures alignment of larger learning and skilling capabilities to the strategy of the organization for the most impact and to ensure feedback, insights, and inputs have been considered and met. Consolidates and connects information across the learning feedback loop to build holistic planning across segments/the company, coordinates integration efforts, and orchestrates the skilling story.  

Prioritizes and leads long-term planning efforts that capture the voice of the learner and have a global impact. Facilitates and scopes learning objectives, outcomes, and what others should do with them using a learner-centric approach. Determines how to best manage and apply resources available across the organization to execute on the plan. Drives the financial planning and forecasting process and determines budgets through assessing financial trends. 

 

Program Execution 

Leads the implementation of multiple core learning programs and systems at a global level. Orchestrates the content improvement process through collecting, examining, and incorporating feedback and data to make content adjustments.  

Drives and executes on a strategic end-to-end learner journey and collection of learning experiences and programs. Identifies previously overlooked gaps in the development process and executes against them. Coordinates and orchestrates across numerous landing teams to best execute and land on the content and operational needs. 

 

Content Review and Confirmation 

Represents the company as a thought leader in their area when reviewing learning and development solutions and best practices in the industry with internal and external clients. Ensures the landing of data that is being used to see how successfully the content is meeting pre-established learning objectives for various deliverables and to close learning gaps. Leads the evaluation of content feedback from relevant stakeholders and partners from feedback sessions (e.g., focus groups) to determine and drive the most important feedback to prioritize and incorporate. Finalizes program/content assessment for the team and executes rollout. Closes the loop on the landing elements by learning where privacy and accessibility standard gaps exist and makes corrections as necessary 

 

Program Success Analysis & Metrics 

Ensures the use of data to evaluate relationships and trends across data, create and tell the data story, define capability gaps for the business, improve benchmarking, and drive learning priorities for the fiscal year through learner-centric methodology. Owns the assessment and change management of learning programs and content to determine how they are being consumed by stakeholders. Enables and continuously improves on the usage of internal and external tools and business intelligence (BI) systems to pull appropriate data in partnership with relevant BI teams and senior leaders. Leads the end-to-end evaluation of programs effectiveness by evaluating learning survey analyses, including program metrics (e.g., user satisfaction, participation in the deliverable), return on investment (ROI), behavior change, and business impact. Facilitates the communication of key performance indicators (KPIs) and the data story with relevant stakeholders to get buy-in and makes recommendations for how to achieve target metrics. Acts as a domain expert of the competition and landscape to improve company offerings. 

 

Stakeholder Collaboration: 

Identifies, develops, and manages stakeholder/partner networks across relevant audiences, business units, or verticals/industries to represent their learning-related needs. Acts as customer/stakeholder champion by incorporating feedback from across the organization and driving the need for alignment with key stakeholder objectives across program teams. Leverages full domain expertise of local/regional and global perspectives and owns consistent diversity and inclusion efforts with all key learning stakeholders. Leads efforts to design and maintain rhythm of business cadence with key stakeholders and leaders. Communicates learning and development approaches to executive leaders and stakeholders to educate on and influence buy in and implementation of solutions

Qualifications

Required: 

  • Vocational qualification or higher education degree (e.g., Bachelor's Degree) AND 7+ years experience in Learning and Development, and relevant field sales and talent development 
  • OR Master's Degree or equivalent AND 5+ years experience in Learning and Development, and relevant field sales and talent development 

 

Additional or Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge and experience of the digital advertising industry.  
  • Vocational qualification or higher education degree (e.g., Bachelor's Degree) AND 10+ years experience in Learning and Development, and relevant field sales and talent development 
  • OR Master's Degree or equivalent AND 8+ years experience in Learning and Development, and relevant field sales and talent development 

 

  • Microsoft Fundamentals, Coaching (e.g., International Coaching Federation), Project and/or Program Management Professional, archival, or a similar certificate. 
  • Demonstrates commitment to career development and continuous or consistent learning through formal and informal efforts (e.g., change management, design thinking, management training, online courses).
