Stripe Technical Services is looking for Curriculum Engineer for their Global Training & Certification function. Stripe is investing in building out its worldwide Training & Certification organization in 2021 and this is a key role. This role will be responsible for designing and developing quality modular content for both internal Tech Services and external audiences. This role is focused on technical curriculum design and development. This role will play a pivotal part in the overall customer engagement and partner enablement strategy at creating processes for content creation and distribution.

You Will:

  • Design and develop, innovative learning solutions applying adult learning principles and systematic instructional design to create content that fits the needs of the learner (includes online, classroom, virtual instructor-led training and blended learning content)
  • Lead the creation and distribution of technical courseware at Stripe; including developing exercises, tutorials, job aids, assessments, and other methods of learning including social or connected learning strategies, and multimedia-based assets
  • Create environments and technical exercises for hands-on engineering workshops
  • Improve practices and tooling related to the training content lifecycle
  • Help create and maintain the technical systems and environments used in hands-on labs
  • Evaluate and recommend the most effective delivery methods for training
  • Suggest the appropriate cadence to keep key skills fresh as well as supporting new product and feature readiness across the organization
  • Work with a global distributed team across multiple time zones
  • Collaborate effectively with key stakeholders and subject matter experts to understand the needs of our partners, customers, and employees
  • Design and develop aesthetically superb technical diagrams and content templates adhering to the highest standards of branding and quality
  • Translate complex technical concepts and components into accurate and impactful visual aids
  • Partner with our engineering and product teams to produce engaging high quality training courses and content for customer and partner curriculums
  • Create courses that can be delivered both as self paced online programs or at in-person trainings
  • Build training certification programs to enable Stripe’s Technical Services field teams and partners to deliver training
  • Deploy code exercises to learning platform: Upload and test / debug code exercises within the lab environment
  • Build and deploy software for testing coding exercises
  • Help define processes and build tools as needed to scale the solution and the team
  • Be a key advocate and support for Change Management and Best Practices throughout the organization

We’re looking for someone who has:

  • A bachelors / Masters in STEM / AI / CS or equivalent industry experience in areas like software development, machine learning or data science
  • Knowledge of software testing best practices and experience with Github, Docker
  • 3-5+ years of experience in programming, systems architecture, or database systems
  • You have publicly available training samples or public speaking experience
  • You are able to transform dry technical topics into engaging, informative, and interesting educational materials
  • You are comfortable and familiar with modern technology and infrastructure such as SaaS, APIs and IaaS cloud services
  • You enjoy self driven exploration and education on new technologies and languages
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles and the ability to incorporate them into the curriculum
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. This includes skill in collaborating with subject matter experts to help write, design, develop, and manage technical eng content projects
  • Experience leading large projects that include various departments

Nice to haves:

  • 5-9 years of experience in curriculum design and development
  • Experience designing and developing content for technical certifications
  • A demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly
  • 2 or more years of experience creating assessments to measure learner competencies
  • Professional experience using e-learning software (Articulate, Captivate, or similar), Cornerstone LMS (or similar)
  • Demonstrated hands-on knowledge of e-learning and video editing tools, such as Articulate, Captivate, Camtasia, Final Cut, Adobe Premiere, After Effects, virtual instructor-led training tools, and social learning tools
  • Experience working with payment industry and implementation partners is also a strong plus
  • You have deep experience with monitoring tools and observability
